"Changes in the Seabed of the Coastline of the Apennine Peninsula in the Last Quarter of the XIX-th Century (on the Materials of the Russian Naval Intelligence)"

Abstract

The article discusses the change of the seabed of the coastline of the Kingdom of Italy in the last quarter of the nineteenth century. The reasons why the seabed was changed are also described. Information about the change of the bottom of the military ports of Italy, in particular deepening, was mentioned in the report of the Russian naval agent Ivan Alekseevich Shestakov "The question of building new battleships in Italy" Number 1797 of March 9, 1881. Dredging vessels of the Russian Empire are characterized, similar to those that made deepening of the coastal line of the seas washing the Italian kingdom.
